about me

I'm a millennial professional working in higher education. I LOVE my job and field of work. My academic background is a little bit different than most people in my field which allows me to combine my love for marketing, public relations and media into my love for working with university students.

Education
I grew up in a suburb of Austin, Texas called Pflugerville where I attended Pflugerville High School. While most professionals leave out high school information I feel that high school is what made me and fostered my future love for working in higher education. In high school I was a member of the marching band, choir, debate team, yearbook staff and student council.

I completed my B.S. (Journalism-Public Relations, 2008) and MBA (2010) at Texas A&M University-Commerce where I worked for campus recreation and wrote for the East Texan. With campus recreation I fell in love with the idea of working in higher education and sought to continue this path. I am also a proud Alumnae of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority.

In the fall of 2008 I began a two-year internship with The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, GO HEELS! I spent my time doing marketing and event planning for Campus Recreation while soaking in the Carolina culture. I am currently wrapping up my Interim Community Director position at North Carolina Central University.

Cheers!
